The River of Dreams

I haven’t heard this song in a really long time. And the other day I heard it as I was out in the barn with the horses. I really tried to pay attention to the words and after the song was over I thought ‘That is  a perfect post!’  So here it is…. if you’ve never heard it I will give you a link so you can listen to it.

The River”
by Garth Brooks

You know a DREAM is like a river
Ever changin’ as it flows.
And a DREAMER’S just a vessel
That must follow where it goes.
Trying to learn from what’s behind you,
And never knowing what’s in store.
Makes each day a constant battle
Just to stay between the shores.

And I will sail my vessel
‘Til the river runs dry.
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky.
I’ll never reach my destination
If I never try.
So I will sail my vessel
‘Til the river runs dry.

Too many times we stand aside,
And let the waters slip away.
‘Til we put off ’til tomorrow
It has now become today.
So don’t you sit up on the shoreline
And say you’re satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids
And dare to dance the tide.

There’s bound to be rough waters
And I know I’ll take some falls.
But with the Good Lord as my Captain
I can make it through them all.

Willing to Win – Part 8

8. KNOW THAT IT’S OK TO MAKE MISTAKES:

We are going to make mistakes and we need to separate ourselves from who we are and what we do. If we stand back and observe our behavior and note our mistakes we can approach a place where we can change the way we do things and then feel more at ease in knowing that it is OK to make mistakes, if we are willing to learn what went wrong and take the necessary steps to change the path that we were on.

How many people do you know that have failed BIG? I know many including myself and if you feel that you cannot accept success until you’ve failed big and haven’t done that yet…then you had better get busy. For if you are participating in life at some point you are going to fail, things are not going to work out all the time…it just won’t happen because that’s life.

We all are going to make mistakes, fail, spend a lot of money on something we feel is the “next big thing” for it not to work out as hoped, BUT the key is learning from those failures and mistakes and move on. Learn the next step, what is it that you need to implement to make your current business not fail the way your last one did.

NEVER, NEVER Give Up! That’s not allowed in the world of success. Those who fall and get back up and push harder for success are the ones who will make it!

Willing to Win – Part 7

We are getting so close to being finished with this series of posts. Hope you all are learning from them and being encouraged by them too!

7.  IT’S NORMAL TO HAVE PROBLEMS:

A problem in this business, is the difference between what I have and what I want…and the secret in this difference is simply to bring the two together. We are all in the problem solving business, not real estate, or any other primary opportunity you may have available.

Thinking positive is OK in itself, BUT much more needs to be done other than just thinking positive. We can’t run from the problems, but rather we must learn to face them and defeat them, thus learning the how and why as we work through every situation that comes along.

Every time we solve a problem and think we have it all together then another problem will come along. We will never have all the problems solved, but we can learn from them as we go through life and take care of them as they occur. I have never met anyone who had it all together. I’ve met some that thought they had it together, but there is no such thing in anyone’s life.

Problems are here and they will always be here and it is like that old saying “when your up to your neck in alligator’s, it’s hard to remember that the initial objective was to drain the swamp.” Alligator’s represent the problems that we face.  We must be bigger than anything that life may throw at us and who we are and who we want to be is bigger than any problem that can be put in your way through your life.

Robert Schuler said, “tough times don’t last, but tough people do“, and that is so true.

I have my own fair share of trials in life occurring at the moment, but I must not let those become the obstacles they could be if I dwelt on them. I need to keep pressing forward and do what is right and I know that I will succeed!

Same Goes in Your Life Too!
